It is a beautifully crafted box with a sturdy construction and will undoubtedly protect the chessmen in case the box is dumped. But the reason why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that there were small scuff marks on one of the edges upon opening the package; and my particular bulky knights don't fit in their designated spot, and I wish there was a bit more flexibility in the cushioning, but it is what it is.
