Imperfect Chess Sets may have slight repairs carried out in the pieces and minute color mismatch may be observed.
Otherwise, they are of high quality like any of our typical chess sets of the same range and are in proper playable/ usable condition.
Our Lanier Graham Set is a licensed reproduction of the official Lanier Graham Chess Set. This was a famous design of interlocking chessmen wherein the pieces can be nested together into a simple rectangular space. Our design is an excellent reproduction of the design which can be used as a fun puzzle alongside the traditional game of chess.
F. Lanier Graham who was a recognised modern art expert and a chess aficionado.
Each piece is shaped in a way that suggests not only their relative importance, but also the ways in which the various pieces move.
Knights show smooth L shapes, Bishops slope diagonally and Rooks stand as rectangles (for the way they move on the board).
Pieces whittle down the rank in scale to show power and relative importance. All 32 figures interlock neatly into a rectangular, puzzle formation to heighten the concept of simplicity and reason.
