Henry Chavet was a chess piece manufacturer who made chessmen for professional use for consumers in North America and Europe.
Our chess pieces are a reproduction of one of variants of Chavet Chess used in chess championships in 1980's to 90's.
This design was particularly appreciated by chess players for its simplistic design and clean lines.
It has no sharp protruding points making them a pleasure to hold and play with. White side of the Chess army has been artificially aged to give them appearance of vintage chessmen.

I own 40+ Chess Sets. Nice little collection. I was showing it off to a Chess Friend of mine, and he liked what he saw, but at the end asked "Where is your French Chavet Set?" I didn't have one. Brilliant quality. I made a burled walnut and birdseye maple chess board that doubles as a side table to house them. The pieces have an excellent weight and I couldn't be happier with them. Thankyou.
Its happens to be the same pieces of Anand vs Kasparov match in 1996 where Kasparov had made the famous blunder to lose the tournament. However really elegant and iconic chess piece to treasure.
I have these pieces displayed on a board with 2.25 inch squares. They have a wonderful weight and feel. With rounded edges, there is no chance of pricking your fingers on the queen's crown. I also appreciate the wide bases and classical look of the pieces, especially the bishops and knights.. I've been looking for this set for years and I am impressed!
