Romanian Hungarian Series chessmen are extremely popular in tournaments in Romania and Hungary. The design is a refreshing change form the mundane Staunton style chess pieces earlier used.
The design profile of all the pieces are extremely unique, unlike any designs earlier used in chess tournaments. The mane of the kinght is uniquely carved with a widened base of the knight's body making it easy for a chess player to hold and play with.
These chessmen are sturdy and are well suited for Blitz or classical games.

Very attractive set. Pieces feel and look substantial. I especially love the sturdy style of the Knights. The opposite color on the tops of the bishops is striking (in a good way). I am very pleased with my choice.

Shipping took a bit longer this time. The toy-like appearance of the Romanian-Hungarian pieces is very attractive. Moderately weighted (Black King=54g, Queen=47g, Bishop=35g, Knight=48g, Rook=41g, Pawn=25g), but robust in shape, suitable for Blitz games. Very nice grains on the rosewood pieces. Would buy again.
