3.5" Fierce Knight Staunton Chess Set - Chess Pieces Only - Weighted Golden Rosewood

The quality of the wood and carving is fantastic and went well with my board. Recommended square sizes from the creator were spot on!

Pieces came in today nicely wrapped. Very quality and just how they look in the advertisements. The only imperfection is the green padding in the bottom for 5-6 pieces was lose on some edges, coming off slightly. I used a hot glue gun to carefully glue them back to the piece and they are back as new. Overall satisfied and would recommend them. They are a pleasure the feel especially when delivering check mate!

Nicely carved. Consistent look. Finish is not consistent, splotchy and drippy on some pieces. Felt bottoms were also not quite right. Some appeared to have been torn rather than cut. Still, I rate them a good value for the money.

I recently received this set of Chess Pieces. I am most impressed with the Quality, Craftsmanship, Size, Feel and Weight. The light Boxwood pieces have a hint of a grain, and are beautifully polished. The Dark Golden Rosewood have a distinct grain and are beautiful. They contrast perfectly with each other. These pieces definitely present themselves as a more costly set than the actual investment.

I purchased these to use with my DGT Centaur Computerized Chess Board. The Centaur comes with very nice plastic pieces but I am somewhat of a traditionalist so really prefer playing with sculpted wood Staunton Pieces.

I chose this set due to the positive reviews and the size of the King and base. It coincides with the square size of the board.

Modifying them to play on the Centaur is straight forward. Aquire Kenco Color Coding Circle Dot Sticker Labels on a roll (Silver FOIL, 1 INCH 1000 Stickers). They are available on Amazon. The size is perfect for the major pieces and must be modified for the Pawns. I used a small cuticle type scissors to acquire the proper size and then used the first one as a template to do the rest. They adhere perfectly to the felt on the base so there is no reason to remove it and they are easy to remove if the owner ever decided to revert them back to their original form. The aluminum foil stickers are very thin so add no bulk to the base.

I have no reservation recommending this set. My only recommendation would be to make the set available with a good quality wooden storage box, either lined with felt and divided for light and dark pieces or a box with individual compartments for the pieces. This would be an add on option.

Very impressed with quality. Had to wait for a while, but it worth it. Here are pictures with my 2 inch squares board.
