Step into a bygone era of Japanese chess craftsmanship with this faithful reproduction of the iconic Golden Castle “Craftsman” Series, originally produced in post-war Japan during the 1940s–50s.
Crafted from antiqued and ebonised boxwood, this 3.6-inch king set revives the legendary 3.5" “Craftsman” model—a Staunton-pattern design admired by collectors worldwide for its balance, elegance, and historical charm.
The premium boxwood finish replicates the classic black and golden lacquered appearance of the original—without the fragility of vintage lacquer.
The knight and bishop designs reflect a distinct Japanese interpretation of the Staunton style—graceful, compact, and made for serious play.
A rare opportunity to experience the spirit of Golden Castle—without the premium price tag or preservation concerns of an original vintage set.
