Combo of 3.9" Craftsman Series Staunton Chess Set - Pieces in Ebony Wood with Board and Box

I've been using this set for 3 months now. The pieces are a rare and perfect combination of form and function. They are weighted quite a bit, making their centre of gravity is quite low and with wide bases, toppling these pieces is very difficult. The knight is the highlight with it's carefully crafted mane and instantly recognisable silhouette. The feel of those splits enhances the tactile feedback from a move to an experience. And I'm not exaggerating either. The rook and the bishop are well crafted with good feel and size. The king and queen are amazing. Not flashy but regal and royal. The pawns are probably the most overlooked part of any set. But here, almost every e4 e5 opening will not just be a start to the game, it'll be an initiation of battle. They are heavy, well crafted and the tactile experience is otherworldly. Overall it's a perfect set. The board is standard 21x21 inch. The squares complement the size of the pieces. I just wish the board was customizable, I'd have ordered an elevated board with matte finish instead. But I really enjoy playing on this one as well.
