Beautiful set; Queen is just a little undersized

Having looked at various sets, I fell in love with the stunning tiger-striped rosewood pieces pictured. The pieces received, understandably due to natural wood variation, show more subtle grain. The chess pieces are superbly crafted, of excellent weight, scale, and feel, and are perfectly sized and a stunning compliment for my handmade chessboard. Very nice size. Little bigger than standard Staunton 3x-weighted plastic tourney sets. Smaller than 4x-weighted pieces. The weight seems standard for 3x-weighted pieces.

The knights are more sculpted, like an actual horse (more dimension around mane, lower neck, and head). Wood tones are as pictured. Nice reddish-brown color. Bright enough to pop in contrast to a brown or black wood board. Dark enough to give contrast on a red board. We are very pleased with this set.
