I had been searching for a modest, well-crafted chess set. I searched through etsy, Amazon, local makers businesses, had no luck.
I gravitate to minimal, simple designs. I was also searching for a set that included two queens and a king piece that was around 3.75" - 4" tall. I wanted a set that I could pass down to the next generation, and one that would not break the bank.
I tried to ask online streamers about what physical chess set they recommend, I searched through YouTube. I found chess.com forums useful. I was not aware of what the tournament standards were, but wanted a future-proof set if we get back to playing live games again after the pandemic.
Justification for purchase: It's just nice to have a tactile game available, versus playing digitally the majority of the time.
I'm quite impressed by their product. I'm not being paid to say this.
The pieces were packed with great care, individually wrapped, and had a packet of silica gel beads in the plastic bag.
I plan to match the set with a board eventually, or I may make one myself. For now, I am using a 20" vinyl board I found from a different seller.
The pieces are heavy enough they should not knock over easily in a breeze.

Really cool set, based on the Bauhaus style (used in the Munich 1936 chess olympics apparently!) Big solid pieces and great quality. Thought it might take ages to turn up from India but was really quick.

Not easy to find a Bundesform set in the UK, something I had been looking at for a time. So I was very pleasantly surprised to see RCM are offering this. Along with a number of other very interesting sets. Quality is superb at this price.
