After the tremendous success of the 1950's Dubrovnik set , this design underwent several revisions to increase its play ability, including refining the shape of the knight and a wider rook.

The bases of all the pieces have been made chunkier and  fatter. In fact this set is the heaviest in its class.

The design has been reconstructed using photographs of various antique original versions of the set.

Renowned Chess Grandmaster Bobby Fischer famously master once quoted - "This is the best set I have ever played on. It is marvelous."

So far I’m very pleased with the pieces. Craftsmanship is excellent and they are nicely weighted. I’ll reserve final judgement until I’ve had them a year to see how they hold up to seasonal humidity fluctuations. So far, so good.😊
